* 20th anniversary of blockbuster film
* Film is being re-released in both 2D and 3D
* Exclusive one-week engagement starts December 1
One of the biggest blockbusters of all-time is sailing its way back into theaters.
Titanic celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and to commemorate the occasion, the film is being re-released in select AMC Theaters in both 2D and 3D. The hugely popular movie will play exclusive one-week runs in 87 AMC venues across the country beginning December 1.
Released in December 1997, Titanic, made A-listers out of stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (pictured above), grossed over $2 billion at the box office and won 11 Academy Awards including best picture, best director, and best original song for Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”
The re-mastered version features footage rendered in the super bright and vibrant “Dolby Vision” and director James Cameron says the footage “leaps off the screen” in a way that will both surprise and mesmerize viewers. The 3D version has also been completely updated from a version that was released five years ago.
Paramount Pictures has also unveiled a new trailer to mark the return of the film. See it below, then click here to search for theaters showing the 20th anniversary edition of Titanic in your area.
