Start flexing those fingers — Amazon’s annual Prime Day is coming July 11 and you’ll want to be ready to take advantage of all the deals and discounts.
One of Amazon’s biggest shopping days of the year (and one of the largest online shopping days of the year, period) Prime Day is like Christmas (or Black Friday) in July. The e-commerce giant slashes prices on a huge assortment of products, from tech deals to home entertainment, decor to everyday essentials.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. The Best Deals Are For Amazon Prime Members
First off, the best Prime Day deals are reserved for Amazon Prime members. Not a Prime member? We’ve got a FREE 30-day trial that you can start now, just in time for Prime Day. Is it worth becoming a Prime member? We’ve got a “Prime Primer” to help you decide (basically, if you order from Amazon more than a dozen times per year and/or want to enjoy the free Music or Video collections available to Prime members, it’s a reasonable deal) — but it’s definitely worth signing up for the free trial, especially in advance of Prime Day.
2. You Have 30 Hours to Shop
Though the “official” day is July 11, Prime Day deals will start at 6pm PT/9pm ET on Monday, July 10, giving Prime members 30 hours to shop. Throughout Prime Day’s run, new deals will be offered every five minutes. Many will sell out quickly, so be sure to keep an eye on our Twitter feed where we’ll be posting some of the better limited-time sales for quick access.
3. Deals Will Be Organized By Most Popular Themes
Find deals organized by more than 20 of the most-shopped-for themes. From pet lovers to gardeners and techies to artists, check the category listings for deals that match your interests. Or, if you know exactly what you want, you can search for the items using the search bar and Amazon will foreground any Prime Day deals available in the search results.
4. Find the Best Deals on Amazon Products
Amazon exclusive items, like the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show and Fire Tablet, will feature the biggest discounts. Already own an Alexa-enabled product? Use Alexa for “voice shopping” and uncover exclusive deals you won’t get anywhere else.
5. TV Blowout
Prime Day will include amazing TV deals, with a variety of great brands including the all new Element 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV – Amazon Fire TV Edition. Amazon is planning one of its largest total volume TV deals in history with a record level of inventory but shop early — the TV deals will likely sell out.
6. Shipping is Free
As always, Prime members receive unlimited Free Two-Day Shipping on more than 50 million items, Prime Free One-Day Shipping and Prime Free Same-Day Delivery in more than 5,000 cities and towns, and two-hour delivery with Prime Now in more than 30 major cities.
7. Keep Watch on a Deal
The Amazon App allows early deal watching in every country. Preview, track, and shop deals while at home or on-the-go with deal alerts on the Amazon App. Learn more at amazon.com/watched.
8. Many Deals Have Already Started
Every day leading up to Prime Day on July 11 members will find all kinds of exclusive promotions and deals. The following are on now:
