The Samsung Galaxy S8 is Available Now: Here’s Every New Feature and Upgrade

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. While availability of Samsung’s newest smartphone is initially limited to the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Korea, the company will role out the Galaxy S8 in more markets in the coming weeks.

One of the Galaxy S8’s most anticipated features is the bezel-less Infinity Display. “The Galaxy S8 builds upon its history of creating stunning designs to offer an immersive viewing experience,” said the company in a statement. “The smooth lines and ergonomic curvature of the phone ensure that the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ both look great and fit comfortably into your hand.”

Another key upgrade for the Galaxy S8 is increased performance from a first-in-class 10nm processor, Gigabit LTE and Gigabit WiFi compatibility. The Galaxy S8 also boasts the first officially designated Mobile HDR Premium screen.

User will also enjoy the upgraded 8MP F1.7 front camera, which offers smart autofocus for effortlessly flawless photos. The Galaxy S8 also features a 12MP F1.7 Dual Pixel rear camera that can snap sharp in low-light conditions. An iris scanner and facial recognition technology take biometric security to the next level.

“The launch of the Galaxy S8 is complimented by an expanded ecosystem that features impressive new services and devices,” says Samsung. One of them is Bixby, the Galaxy S8’s intelligent new interface. Another is Samsung DeX, a setting that creates a desktop experience for users. Another key feature, Samsung Connect, offers intuitive IoT device management. Samsung Health expands your healthcare solutions, and Samsung Pay gives you more mobile payment capabilities.
