Apple Hints At New Product Launch As Website Undergoes Maintenance

There’s been a lot of talk about Apple dropping a new product in March, but until now it’s all been a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Well, as MacRumors first reported, Apple’s system status page has announced the Apple Store will be down tomorrow due to “routine maintenance” between the hours of 3 am and 8:30 am EST.

While this may not mean anything, the Apple Store has traditionally gone down right before new products are released. So could Apple be positioning themselves for a new launch?

Even more coincidental is the time for this scheduled maintenance. As 8:30 am is the time Apple usually sends out its press releases, this “routine maintenance” is curious indeed.

Apple tends to send out announcements 10 days before a release, but of the last five events Apple held in March, all but one occurred before March 13. This means that if Apple were to release a new product, now would be the time.

But what would necessitate something big enough to temporarily take the entire Apple Store down? Product updates are fairly common and normally don’t require much work, which leads us to believe there could be an entirely new product on the way.

As to what new product Apple could be releasing, well, your guess is as good as ours.
