Sleepless nights are a b*itch, but from time to time, they will happen. Whatever it is keeping you awake, whether it is work-related, kids, never-ending to-do lists or upcoming events, we have some skincare solutions for the dreaded morning after. While we cannot cure how lousy you may feel internally, we can give you some fake-it-till-you-make-it products that are sure to make you look — and then hopefully feel — like you slept for a full 8 hours.
1. Color Corrector
One of the more obvious products you might think to use the morning after a sleepless night is concealer. What goes under the concealer, however, can make all the difference in the world. L.A. Girl’s Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Yellow Corrector is a color-correcting formula that camouflages darkness under the eyes, redness and skin imperfections. Correctors are meant to be applied under your regular concealer to create a perfectly even complexion while brightening up the eye area, virtually eliminating any signs of a lackluster sleep.
2. Nude Eyeliner
Another eye trick to help you look wide awake and give the illusion of a bigger eye is a nude liner pencil. The NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Pencil in Light is a multi-functional product that will conceal flaws and blemishes, brighten your eyes when placed along the waterline and can be used to line your lips to prevent lip color from bleeding. For our purposes, place this wonder pencil carefully along the waterline and inner corners and blend out to reduce the look of darkness and help open up and illuminate your eyes.
3. Illuminating Primer/Moisturizer
How to get a ‘natural’ Glow is all over the ‘net these days. Glow and illumination are especially important when one has woken up from a sleepless slumber. The L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer is a glow-enhancing lotion that instantly hydrates and luminizes skin for all-over fresh, healthy and radiant-looking skin. Wear this instant luminizer under, over or mixed in with your foundation for some extra dewiness. The key is to avoid anything overly matte as it can and will accentuate dryness, texture and/or lines.
4. Brightening & Exfoliating Cleanser
The first thing you will want to do in the morning after a restless night is to thoroughly yet gently cleanse the skin. InstaNatural’s Vitamin C Facial Cleanser is an exfoliating face wash that promises to rejuvenate and refine the skin with potent antioxidants and extracts like Vitamin C, Green Tea and Chamomile. This brightening and exfoliating cleanser will help perk up the skin and slough away dead skin cells while fading the appearance of lines and wrinkles for a brighter, smoother complexion.
5. Jade Roller
Facial massage has been in the spotlight lately and is a great way to instantly depuff and reduce tension in the face. Chi Himalayan’s 100% Natural Jade Facial Roller works by utilizing the power of jade stones, which contain tremendous amounts of good energy, to have a positive effect on your skin by stimulating blood flow on the face and neck. It also helps in lymphatic drainage to provide healing, avoid puffiness and gets rid of excess fluid and toxins as well. A great tip is to store your jade roller in the refrigerator for a great cooling sensation that will contribute to the massage experience. If you want to be extra, do as Victoria Beckham does and use the roller to massage your serums and moisturizers into your skin for deeper penetration.
6. Caffeine Eye Cream
Our last sleepless beauty product solution is the La Roche-Posay Pigmentclar Eyes Corrector. This daily eye cream is specially formulated to target and visibly reduce both blue and brown dark circles that can result from not sleeping. This cream contains caffeine for reducing puffiness and light reflective pearl pigments to brighten and refresh the eye area. And the unique cooling metal applicator will further reduce puffiness to help melt the product into the skin.
