* Apple introduced three new phones last week: the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X
* New phones offer updated tech mixed with a premium new feel
* While the X is rumored to be released next year, the 8 is available now
Apple shocked the world last week with three new iPhone announcements. In addition to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, which were both released on the 22nd, Apple also unveiled their plans for the iPhone X, which is shaping up to be one of their most ambitious and anticipated models yet.
While the 8 and X (pronounced ten) may sound like completely different phones, they have more in common than you might think. For starters, the 8 incorporates the same A11 Bionic Processor as the X. That means it not only functions the way we’ve come to expect, it’s also much faster and stronger than previous iPhone models. The 8 also includes the same beautiful glass finish as the X, which adds to a more premium feel compared to previous iPhone models.
And then there’s the whole issue of availability. With rumored delays on the horizon, experts predict massive pushback with the X, which is tentatively scheduled to drop later this year. The iPhone 8, on the other hand, is already available and has been received with near-unanimous acclaim. After all, the 8 takes everything that was great from 7 and 7 Plus models and expands upon them — offering a faster processor, better screen and an all-around more premium feel.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for the X. If you’re in the market for a new phone, you can’t go wrong with the 8.
