* Reserve with Google lets you book fitness classes online
* Find classes in your neighborhood that have yet to fill up
* Can search based on location, style and personal preferences
Google is making a play for the fitness buffs with their latest service to hit the web.
“Reserve with Google” is a new feature that will allow you to view and book fitness classes across the U.S. Previously only available in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, the program is now being expanded across the country.
The goal, according to Google, is to help fill empty fitness studios, while also helping you find a class or workout that fits your schedule, routine and preferences.
The site works by using Google Maps and Google Search data to find classes and studios near you. You can search for fitness studios based on distance, exercise offered and style. Spas and gyms can be included in the search results too. Google will also recommend suggestions for you and you can set notifications of new classes that might be interesting to you.
Unlike ClassPass, there is no monthly commitment or large fee. And you don’t have to worry about fighting to get a seat. With Reserve with Google, you simply search, reserve and book as you go. Since many of these places are trying to fill up their studios, you’ll often find a better deal and be exposed to less busy — and more boutique — classes and spaces as well. Sounds like a healthy (booking) alternative to us.
