PUMA has been bringing out the star power in recent seasons with two, buzzed-about collaborations with Kylie Jenner and Rihanna. Both collabs have been credited with boosting the brand’s sales, while increasing PUMA’s reach with “influencers” and across social media.
But which PUMA partnership has your seal of approval? Let’s break it down.
Jenner is the current face of PUMA, appearing in their ad campaigns while promoting the PUMA “Fierce” collection of shoes and apparel. The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan unveiled her latest campaign in January, which sees her modeling the Puma Fierce Strap Swans, a collaboration between the athletic brand and the New York City Ballet.
Inspired by dance movements and designed for training, the Fierce Swan features a modern, exaggerated silhouette, iridescent detailing and a trendy mesh upper. Super lightweight and comfortable, it’s got enough technical prowess to wear to the gym, but looks equally cool styled for the street or club.
Jenner also models PUMA’s performance wear, showing off her gym body in PUMA’s iconic logo bra and funky printed tights. Taking the classic workout look to a whole new level, the pieces work for yoga, basketball, spin class or Pilates. Throw on a logo hoodie and take the pieces out like Kylie and Kendall, who are often photographed sporting the athleisure look out to errands or lunch.
These Clash long tights are made from a super comfy material that draw sweat away from your skin and help keep you dry and pulled together. If you’re not quite rocking Jenner-style abs, the wider waistband helps to smooth your midsection.
Kylie rocks this sports bra with printed shorts and matching light bomber in one of her promo shots for PUMA. This bra is perfect for yoga and working up a sweat, with removable foam cups for support and shape, plus a plush elastic bottom band for comfort – and to make sure everything stays in place.
Rihanna’s contribution to PUMA is a little more hands-on. She was named “Creative Director” back in 2014 and it’s been a meteoric rise ever since. Case in point: her FENTY PUMA by Rihanna collection spun off the 2016 Shoe of the Year. The PUMA Creepers are constantly sold out, making them one of the more collectible and in-demand shoes to hit the women’s market in a long time.
Her latest clothing collection for FENTY PUMA has shown at both New York and Paris Fashion Week and features a mix of high-fashion streetwear and athleisure pieces that all boast Rihanna’s daring, wild and unpredictable style.
The pieces all feature chunky, oversized silhouettes, edgy draping and muted color palettes that give them a futuristic urban feel. It’s a mix of tomboy chic and festival fashion, as at-home on the streets of London as it is at Burning Man.
It looks like PUMA isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, thanks to the popularity of both Kylie and Rihanna’s collaborations. Which pieces will be on your must-have list this season? And, more importantly, whose PUMA pieces do you prefer? Cast your vote now in the poll below.
