* Handcrafted in Istanbul, Turkey
* 24k yellow gold and oxidized sterling silver
* Mixed pavé diamonds and rubies

If you’re looking for over-the-top bling that brings down the house, look no further than the Serpent Padlock Charm. Handcrafted from 24k yellow gold and oxidized sterling silver by Istanbul-based jewelry designer Sevan Biçakçi, a coiled snake detail embellishes the face of this bold necklace charm.

It features not only milgrain details and brushed etching at the edges, but also floral and crosshatch engravings at the back. Despite all that, we know you’re more interested in the jewels: pavé rough diamonds, pavé fancy diamonds and pavé black diamonds. Oh yea, and rubies, too.

Master jeweler Sevan Biçakçi began his career at the age of 12, as an intern at Hovsep Çatak’s workshop. He struck out on his own in 2002, debuting a collection that was inspired by the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul’s Sultanahmet neighborhood, an area where Biçakçi still spends much of his time.

A favorite of collectors for the intense craftsmanship he applies to his work, you can find some of Biçakçi’s designs in fine department stores worldwide. However, most of his work can only be found at his boutique in Istanbul. This piece is an exception.
