Airing live from Beverly Hills, the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards were the talk of the town Sunday, though the conversations were largely focused on messages of solidarity and change, in light of the recent #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.

Almost all the female attendees wore black to support the #TimesUp initiative, launched by women in Hollywood to combat what they say is a systemic sexual harassment that is still rampant across the industry. The initiative, along with the #MeToo hashtag, has spurned a tidal wave of support, that has resulted in multiple men losing their jobs or being placed on leave after allegations of sexual assault and unwanted advances.

Host Seth Meyers addressed the issue right away, beginning the show with the line, “Welcome, ladies and remaining gentlemen.” Cecil B. Demille award winner, Oprah Winfrey, also tackled the issue in her acceptance speech, praising those who have come forward to “speak their truth” and encouraging those in the room to do whatever it takes so that, “no one has to say ‘Me too’ again.”

As for the awards themselves, the dark indie drama, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, took home four awards, including “Best Picture, “Best Actress – Drama” (Frances McDormand) and “Best Supporting Actor – Drama” (Sam Rockwell).

Big Little Lies, meantime, took home four awards on the television side, winning the trophy for “Best Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television,” “Best Actress” (Nicole Kidman), “Best Supporting Actress” (Laura Dern) and “Best Supporting Actor (Alexander Skarsgard).
