* Waterpik’s first “portable” countertop unit
* An easy and effective alternative to flossing
* Compact and contemporary design

I’ve been a fan of Waterpik for years, but before that, I wasn’t a huge fan of flossing. Thankfully, Waterpik came up with an easy and more effective way to floss: The Waterpik Water Flosser. #Adulting is looking up.

Recently, I came across their new Waterpik Sidekick Water Flosser and couldn’t wait to give it a try. The company introduced the product earlier this year as their first “portable” countertop unit and described it as a “new era in oral care products.” I couldn’t agree more.

Waterpik has a complete line of products — from Countertop Water Flossers to Whitening Water Flossers — but the Waterpik Sidekick is like the younger, cooler version of itself. And although it’s much smaller compared to its predecessors, I was impressed by it all — and I think you’ll agree, too.

What Is Waterpik?

Waterpik knew long ago that brushing alone was never enough for a healthy smile. Backed by the American Dental Association (ADA), Waterpik created powerful yet practical every-day water flossers (for both kids and adults) to remove plaque, food and bacteria between teeth and below the gumline.

How It Works

Setting up is easy. Simply connect your Sidekick to the power supply. Then pop the reservoir on, attach the flossing stylus and fill the reservoir with warm water. You can adjust the pressure to your liking thanks to its 5-setting Slide Pressure Control System.

Place the tip of the Waterpik and aim it towards your gum line. Water flows out of the device with a massaging sensation and the company says it removes up to 99.9% of plaque and debris between your teeth and your gums.

If this is your first time, be sure to keep your mouth slightly closed to prevent splashing. I have pretty sensitive gums, too so you’ll be happy to know that using the Waterpik Sidekick will not cause additional irritation. In fact, the extra water stimulation keeps it happy and healthy.

Noteworthy Features

The Waterpik Sidekick comes in three different colors: black with copper; white with rose gold and white with chrome. I have the black with copper and it looks gorgeous on my bathroom counter when not in use. The Sidekick is also design for limited counter space and collapses easily to fit in just about any purse, briefcase or carry-on if you’re looking to water floss on-the-go. It even comes with an elegant storage case to ensure your Sidekick is protected at all times.

The Verdict

Whether you’re in the market for a new water flosser or looking for a practical way to step up your oral care routine, the Waterpik Sidekick is the way to go. Aesthetically, it’s sleek, stylish and smart; performance-wise, it delivers all the clinically proven benefits of water flossing all without irritation or discomfort. It’s truly a Sidekick you’ll be happy to have by your side.
