* Options for glowy skin, matte finish, oil control and more
* Solid setting sprays for every budget

Makeup setting sprays are all the rage these days and for many, your look just doesn’t feel complete without the addition of a few last spritzes. In addition to extending the life of your makeup, they have numerous other functions depending on the look and finish you want to achieve. You can spray your brush prior to adding powders or highlighters to intensify the color payoff, dampen your beauty sponge with the spray and use it to press out dry or creased makeup, and you can even use it to sheer out your foundation while adding some glow.

Below are some of our favorite options at a variety of price points to ensure your makeup masterpiece is set, long-lasting, and looks like actual skin.

1. e.l.f Makeup Mist & Set

At just $6 ($4 for the small), there is really no reason not to try the e.lf. Cosmetics Mist & Set. This setting spray contains aloe, green tea, cucumber and vitamins A, C and E to soothe and hydrate the skin while holding your makeup in place. Spray your face during makeup application to set your powders and when you are finished to extend the life of your makeup and give your face a subtle sheen.

2. Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist

The Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist is all about deeply hydrating the skin and elevating the glow factor. When sprayed on your skin, the feather-light mist provides a surge of hyaluronic acid to plump the skin by trapping moisture, along with other soothing ingredients such as black oat and linoleic acid. When skin is hydrated, makeup goes on beautifully and stays on longer, and this product helps add luminosity without leaving a greasy residue like heavy creams.

3. Morphe Setting Mist

Morphe’s Setting Mist is a great, all-around setting mist with one of the best spray delivery systems we have seen. Unlike some setting sprays, this one offers a fine, even mist so you aren’t drenched after applying it. The micro-fine mist will set your liquid or powder makeup so it won’t budge for hours.

4. MAC Prep + Prime Finishing Mist

MAC’s Fix+ is known as the holy grail of hydrating and setting mists. This original, multifunction formula has been around forever and is meant to hydrate, refresh and set your makeup. This lightweight formula is packed with minerals, green tea, chamomile and cucumber to gently moisturize, soothe and enhance your complexion. Use before makeup application to hydrate skin while creating an even surface for smoother application, during application to set powders and after to set the makeup and add a glow.

5. Urban Decay All Nighter

If you want to not only set your makeup for the day but need to lock it down for the night as well, then Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Setting Spray is the one to choose. Another one of the OG mists that’s tried and true, this setting spray will keep your makeup looking as if you just applied it for up to 16 hours without melting, fading or settling into fine lines.  Featuring patented Temperature Control technology, this spray will actually lower the temperature of your makeup to keep everything in place even in hot, humid or cold weather conditions.

6. Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist

The Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist is one of the more luxe additions to this list, but definitely worth a shout-out. This is not just your average setting spray, but is also a fine mist moisturizer that is formulated with more than 20 percent botanical oils, humectants and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and moisturize and prep the skin for makeup. This formula also looks great when applied to makeup-free skin for those lazy days where you still want to stay hydrated and work that healthy glow.
