* The best pieces from Christophe Lemaire’s Uniqlo U collection
* Hyper-trendy runway looks for a fraction of the price
* Bags, pants, sweaters, jackets and more, for men and women
Uniqlo just dropped another highly-anticipated collaboration with French fashion virtuoso Christophe Lemaire. As expected with all Uniqlo collabs, the collection features up-to-date, easy to wear pieces with just the right amount of artistic influence from the collaborator.
In this case, you’re getting pieces that echo Lemaire’s muted European minimalism for a fraction of the price. Here are some of our favorite items from the buzzy new collection.
1. U Sack Gym Bag
This sack gym bag provides an efficient way to transport gym clothes, but it also looks great with casual weekend-wear for day trips or traveling. It comes in a few neutral colors, but we recommend olive (pictured below).
2. Men’s Cotton Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
Great crewneck sweaters are surprisingly hard to find. Uniqlo has always made great crewnecks (and just basics in general), but Lemaire (another basics master) has helped them make their best one yet. This super cozy cotton cashmere sweater is something you’ll end up throwing on all the time, and costs less than $30.
3. U Shoulder Bag
Shoulder bags have become the trendiest way to carry your stuff thanks to hypebeasts and celebs like A$AP Rocky. Uniqlo x Lemaire’s shoulder bag is less flashy than the ones from Supreme or Prada, making it easier for us normal guys to wear. They actually make a great everyday carry — just don’t call it a man-purse.
4. Men’s Straight Ankle Jeans
Wide jeans are officially back, but they’ve evolved from the baggy denim of the early 2000s. The wide jeans of 2018 are slightly higher-waisted and cropped at the ankle for a clean, versatile look. Uniqlo nailed this new fit with their straight ankle jeans, and offers them at a very reasonable price for denim.
5. Men’s Cotton Jacket
This cotton sport coat features an on-trend looser fit, and a unique, military-style texture. It’s ideal for stylish offices or date night, and pairs well with pants or even shorts for a fresh summer look.
6. Women’s Wide Jeans
These wide cut jeans take heavy inspiration from skater street style, and make a great winter-spring transition piece. The fit also lets you wear them as a statement piece, but they’re versatile enough to pair with an array of tops.
7. Women’s 3D Ribbed Crewneck Sweater
If you’re having trouble finding a stylish, versatile sweater, this is a great buy for just $40. The fit and colors go with button-ups for the office as well as tees on the weekend, and the ribbing gives the classic crew cut a subtle upgrade.
8. Crewneck Short-Sleeve dress
With athleisure dominating the casual-wear market, modern dresses like this one are increasingly hard to find. It does a great job of being versatile, interesting, and comfortable all at the same time, and makes a great go-to for this spring/summer.
