Most of the nutrients our bodies need to be healthy come from the food we eat, which is why a balanced diet is so important. Sometimes, however, it can be hard to get everything we need from food alone, especially for people with certain deficiencies or who follow vegetarian or vegan diets.

Zinc is an immensely important nutrient to the human body, as it helps the immune system fight off illness, among other things. Zinc is readily found in seafood, red meat, and poultry. If these things are not part of your regular diet, it may be worth looking into taking zinc supplements. It’s important to be careful, however. Just because zinc is good for the body, it does not mean it’s impossible to get too much of it. Taking too much can lead to serious health problems, which is why it’s always a good idea to consult a doctor before taking any supplements.

That said, zinc supplements are readily available in healthy doses at the pharmacy without a prescription or even online. These three brands offer zinc supplements on Amazon, and they all ship free with a Prime membership.

1. Nutricost Zinc Gluconate 240 Veggie Capsules

Pros: Only option produced without gelatin, an animal product.

Cons: High dosage helps those with zinc deficiencies, but may be too high for those with regular diets.
