Amazon Makes A $50 Echo Dot For Kids. Here’s How It Works

* Newest addition to the Echo family
* Instantly connects throughout the house
* Includes ad-free and kid-friendly radio options

Amazon has rolled out yet another addition to their popular Echo Dot family — a kid-friendly Alexa version that is designed with kids in mind. The new Echo Dot is the same hands-free, voice-controlled speaker with Alexa that you know and love, but now has the added age-appropriate software that your kids will enjoy.

The Kids Edition Dot works similar to the original Dot but now can play age-appropriate music, answer questions, tell stories, control compatible smart home devices and more. This new edition will keep kids entertained and with its interactive features, they can enjoy hours of fun along with some educational content.

Alexa can now be a study buddy to your kid, a DJ, comedian and storyteller all-in-one. Included with this special edition is a one-year FreeTime Unlimited subscription which allows kids to access rich content like a variety of kid-focused skills, thousands of ad-free songs including playlists from Radio Disney, Nick Radio and access to tons of Audiobooks. Literally, thousands of hours of fun and educational content has been included with this device.

If that isn’t enough, parents can control time limits, set bedtimes, review activity and more with a special online Parent Dashboard. You can also filter explicit songs and prevent any unexpected purchases.

The latest Echo Dot is a great way for kids to learn to communicate, interact and even encourages learning with storytelling, playing games and quizzes with National Geographic. They can even get more techno-savvy and amp up their decision-making skills by choosing special alarms featuring characters they love to wake up. It can even provide positive feedback when kids ask questions and remember to say ‘please.’

However you choose to use this new device, you can feel better knowing that it follows all the guidelines from the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act by requiring parent permission before utilizing any services.
