The smartwatch market is heating up more now than ever, and this is the best time of year to check out the finest and newest wares. Alternately, you can snap up a deal on an older model in lieu of the shiny new ones.
That certainly seems to be a move with Apple Watches this year, following the recent release of the Series 5. While there are not many definitively-priced deals available yet, here are some of the best ones that we’ve seen, and a few other options for those of us who don’t care for Apple or don’t care to wait.
Series 3 Deals
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) 38mm
$169.99 (Originally $199.99)
This offer is valid from 11/28 through 11/30, and you can access the deal online and in stores. You can save 5% on the Series 3 by purchasing it with your RedCard.
Series 4 Deals
Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS)
Discounts as high as $300
Best Buy has not announced their official Black Friday prices quite yet, but their ad preview says that you can expect to save a minimum of $50 on a Series 4, which can run you anywhere from $349 to $800 at regular price. New users will receive a free three-month subscription to Apple Music with their purchase.
Series 5 Deals
Perhaps because it came out two months ago, the Apple Watch Series 5 has yet to be featured in any Black Friday previews. It’s possible Apple wants to retain the value of its new release, or maybe the plan to offload some Series 3 and Series 4 watches before allowing a sale on the 5.
If you’re willing to sacrifice the new “always-on” screen and compass functions, you can save a decent amount of money by purchasing a Series 4 instead. The previous watch more or less has the same form and function as the newest model, and you are way more likely to find a good deal.
If you’re really set on getting the new Series 5, here is a deal that’s live right now:
Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) 44mm
$699.00 (Originally $749.00)
Don’t forget to factor in the extra carrier price for this cellular watch. Some Amazon users have reported that it doesn’t work well with older iPhones, so take that into consideration as well.
Other Deals to Consider
Samsung Galaxy Active SmartWatch 40mm, Rose Gold
$219.99 (Originally $269.99)
Samsung Galaxy Active 2 Smartwatch 44mm, Black
$239.99 (Originally $289.99)
The 44mm Black Friday price is competitive, while the Rose Gold is pretty standard. Unfortunately, this deal is for members only, so you might want to look elsewhere if you are not a Costco shopper.
Garmin vivoActive 3 with BONUS Band
$129.99 (Originally $179.99)
Shipping is free. If GPS and fitness are your priorities when selecting a smartwatch, the Garmin vivoActive 3 is a budget-friendly option. Compared to other retailers, even the $179.99 list price before the discount is quite reasonable. You have to be a BJs member to buy this in-store, but you can purchase it online so long as you pay the annual non-member fee.
Apple Watch Deals You Can Get Now
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS)
$189.00 (Originally $199.00)
Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS)
$414.99 (Originally $429.00)
While Best Buy’s Black Friday preview doesn’t feature any special Apple Watch deals, you can get a tiny deal on one now if you don’t feel like waiting in hopes of a last-minute surprise. Worst case, you can always purchase it within 14 days of Black Friday and return it if you see a better deal.
New users will receive three free months of Apple Music with this purchase.
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) 38mm
