“The Hive” Is Bumble’s Real-Life Hangout

* A place for dates, friends and networking
* Coffee bar, wet bar and “wall of dicks”
* New York popup is pilot for permanent locations

If you need a place to take your Bumble date, head to The Hive; it’s the app’s new brick-and-mortar meeting place for dates, friends and networking in New York.

“It will follow the format of Bumble and offer something for everyone,” founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe tells Mashable. “A place for dates to meet, friends to do activities together and co-working for our bizz users. Bumble has allowed you to build your hive digitally, and now we’re giving you an extension of that physically.”

So what’s it like? Yellow, of course. There’s also a focus to make it more than just a singles spot–or worse–packed with people on first dates. The idea is to make it a place to meet new friends and expand your professional network. It has a coffee bar, wet bar and a wall of dick pics — photos of famous “Dicks” like Nixon and Burton, nothing x-rated.

The pop-up location in New York will only be there for a short time, but the plan is to eventually have permanent locations in select cities. Bumble wants “users to convene is a safe place where only positive interaction is welcome,” says Wolfe.

For now, Bumble has partnered with Forbes, Whispering Angel Rosé and Drybar to jointly market the new venture.
