* Wired gaming headset with Bluetooth connectivity
* Multi-device compatibility
* Built-in mic and a detachable boom mic
I love playing video games. The community, the adrenaline, the non-stop action – nothing beats it. There’s not a day where you don’t catch me on my PC perfecting my craft with current favorites like Dead by Daylight, Monster Hunter World and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Regardless of what games you play, one thing’s for sure: If you’re playing on a crappy computer set up, consider it an instant game over.
The same can be said with sound. Nothing’s more important than being able to hear your surroundings — regardless if you’re tracking your victims in a survival horror game or trying to be the last player standing in Fortnite. Point is, you need to hear EVERYTHING. That’s where HyperX comes in.
Prior to testing out the
, I was using their . I’ve had it for about two years and it’s your everyday gaming headset that gets the job done without breaking the bank. The Cloud MIX, however, is on a different level. A very elite level.

As HyperX’s first wired gaming headset with Bluetooth connectivity, it’s like getting two headsets in one. Priced at under $200, the Cloud MIX is specially “built for gamers on-the-go” and is an affordable way to upgrade your gaming experience.
How Does the Cloud MIX Work?
You can choose to connect your Cloud MIX two ways:
1) Directly to your PC, console controllers, laptop and phone thanks to its 3.5mm audio cable that you can easily extend with the included PC extension cable.
2) By Bluetooth. Personally, I prefer the Bluetooth mode because I can move around with zero restrictions – grab a drink, snack, etc. Likewise, I can plop myself on the couch and listen to Spotify and binge watch Daredevil on Netflix without needing to connect anything.

Not to mention, Bluetooth set-up is super easy. When you power on the headset for Bluetooth – a blue light appears and a voice prompt confirms that you successfully powered it on and alerts you to the remaining battery life (so helpful). To connect with any of your devices, simply hold down the power button until you see it flash red and blue.
Other cool features when using Bluetooth is the multi-functional button on the left ear cup. Tap it once to pause or play the current track. Tap it twice to skip to the next track. And when you receive a call, you can tap the button once to answer the call, which is glorious because you don’t have to dig around in your pocket or bag to answer the call. So smart. Do keep in mind: the buttons on the ear cups work only when you are using Bluetooth.
It also comes with a USB charging cable and a sleek, soft pouch to keep your headphones clean and protected when not in use. Obviously a must when traveling.

The Cloud MIX also comes equipped with two microphone options: A detachable, noise cancelling Discord Certified mic for game chat, as well as the internal built-in mic for Bluetooth mode.

The Verdict
After using the headset non-stop for a week, I absolutely love it. The only drawback I would say is the overall fit. The extra plushy earpads are soft and comfy, but after wearing it for a while, it can get uncomfortably snug overtime. Like a bear hug to your head.
Style-wise, I love its sleek black design and it’s less bulkier than your typical gaming headset, which is a plus when you plan on using it outside your home.
I used the Cloud MIX while gaming, then switched it up to Netflix, Spotify and even made a few calls on my iPhone and it’s been exceptional. The battery life is pretty impressive, too – boasting about 20 hours of wireless freedom.
Game chat is also much clearer—I’d recommend attaching the mic for the best outcome; music sounds crisper and I can hear all the action around me when I’m in my Tom Clancy mode.
All in all, if I were to give the Cloud MIX a rating out of 5 stars, it’d be a solid 4.
If you’re in the market for a high quality wireless headset that’s designed for superior gaming experience and all around entertainment use, look no further than the Cloud MIX.
