Anker’s Nebula Mars II Pro projector is currently on sale for $369 (that’s 33% off) as part of Amazon Prime Day 2020, which comes packed with features that you rarely see in a projector under $500.
For starters, the Nebula Mars II Pro provides 720p resolution and 500 ANSI Lumens of brightness, which can throw a picture up to 150 inches up on your wall. (We would recommend a dark room for this.) And to make things convenient, it offers the ability to stream directly from services such as Netflix and Youtube, also comes with a built-in 10-watt speaker that you can also use as a Bluetooth speaker for your other devices. It’s also portable, so that means it’s designed to set up easily, and you can easily stash it away when you’re not using it.
And while you may already have a very nice 4K TV that supports HDR and comes with every streaming service under the sun, we think there are still some compelling reasons to pick up this projector.
A TV is great for most of your day-to-day viewing, whether that’s cable, Netflix, or YouTube. But there are those occasional times when you want to buy or rent the hot new movie (Bill and Ted Face The Music, anyone?) and have it feel like an event.
And when you sit down in a dark room, and watch a movie with a projector, it really feels like an event in a way you don’t get with a 65-inch TV. Half the magic of the movie theater is being immersed in that giant screen. (Buttered popcorn is the other half).
And now that going to the movies is less of an option now than it was in the past, recreating that experience at home seems like more and more of an attractive idea. It’s why hosting a Halloween movie night is such a popular idea in 2020.
The nice thing about the Nebula Mars II Pro Prime Day deal is that you’re getting a projector that performs solidly and doesn’t cost and it’s affordable enough that it makes sense as a thing you pull out once or twice a week. (You probably won’t want to use this as your main way of watching TV, although you probably could if you wanted to.) Plus, given that it’s portable, its compact enough, and solidly built enough that you can take this into the backyard, or over to a family member’s home if you wanted to.
