Austin outfit Made In realizes this too and has partnered with fellow Austinite Tecovas boots to help you make the best of your next outdoor adventure. Launching today, August 17, the two companies have teamed up for a special collaboration that will make you want to get outdoors. The Grill Collection is ready-made for any outdoor open-flame cooking you may find yourself wanting to do, as it includes a carbon steel grill frying pan, a 9″ carving knife with a yew wood handle, a duck canvas-reinforced knife roll (with Tecavos leather accents), a leather panhandle made with Tecovas leather, and a special edition of Tecovas Knox Boot, available for sale at the Tecovas online store.
Tecovas is best known for its handmade leather boots for men, but the company has recently expanded its western wear with more outdoor apparel and gear. The company currently sells leather dog leashes, performance dad hats and hunting shirts, among other items. So an outdoor cooking collection with another Texas-based brand is a natural next step for Tecovas. Like a lot of the Tecovas outdoors line, the new cooking equipment would make a great gift for men who appreciate fine American craftsmanship.

It’s hard to pick a real star of the show here, as the entire collaboration is extremely well-considered and executed at every stage. The frying pan, in particular, is inspired. Lightweight enough to pack into a backpack or toss in the car without issue, it’s meant to be placed directly on a fire, where its perforations allow the flames to make direct contact with your food. In short, the pan functions like a grill would, allowing oil and grease to drip away into the fire while allowing for that flame-fired taste that’s made grilling so popular for so long. The leather handle cover allows you to easily use the pan, thanks to the heavy-duty Harness Leather from Tecovas, which provides both comfort and sturdiness when placing it in the fire.
Equally essential is the 9″ carving knife, which is the perfect length and weight to provide a comfortable balance when carving.
