* Designed by LA’s own Rob Garcia
* Built on Puma’s Ignite midsole for maximum comfort
* You’d never mistake these trainers for anything but En Noir
In 2014, Rob Garcia of En Noir was named by GQ as one of the Best New Menswear Designers in America. Then a variety of unforeseen circumstances caused the darling of high fashion and streetwear to go on hiatus — only to reemerge late last year with its first collection in over two years.
As part of that reemergence, En Noir teamed up with Puma for a limited edition variant of the athletic brand’s Ignite evoKnit training shoe. Best known for its black leather sweatpants made famous by Kanye West in 2012 and other celebs thereafter, En Noir gives the Ignite the all-black treatment as well.
Adorned by an all-over fleur-de-lis print and “carpe noctem” (seize the night) emblazoned across the Ignite’s sock-like upper collars, these might be the most goth trainers ever made. With looks accounted for by Garcia, Puma takes care of the rest with its Ignite midsole for maximum energy return on runs and training sessions, while the evoKnit upper and straps keep your feet locked in.
Despite the hiatus, Garcia’s collaboration with Puma proves that not only is En Noir back but that fans of the brand never left. Which is probably why these sold out on En Noir’s online shop and why you should grab a pair while you can.
