Cartier Re-Launches The Iconic Panthère de Cartier Watch

* Cartier relaunches iconic Panthère de Cartier watch
* Available on Net-a-Porter during May
* Collection consists of 12 models

Luxury jewelry brand Cartier has just relaunched one of its most popular and iconic watch styles, the Panthère de Cartier, in an exclusive pop-up shop with Net-a-Porter.

The style was originally released back in 1984, but has been updated with modern touches, including a thinner case and waterproof body for its re-edition. This release also marks the first time that Cartier products will be sold by another retailer, other than the brand’s own e-commerce website, indicating a shift in the brand’s strategy to perhaps address weakened watch demand in the luxury market.

The Panthère de Cartier, became an instant hit after its original release decades ago, redefining the time-telling device as a fashionable, jewelry-like wristpiece that epitomized luxury accessorizing. The reiterated version maintains its original aesthetic with the exception of the features listed above, featuring the classic square case and chain-link bracelet. Its dainty, stainless steel construction gives the watch a durable feel, while somehow still looking delicate on the wrist.

The new collection consists of 12 different models, available in a variety of tones including gold, rose gold and silver, with additional jewel-beveled styles offered as well. The line also includes two limited-edition styles.

The pop-up collection will be available on Net-a-Porter until May 31 and will be sold in select Cartier boutiques as well. Prices range from $4000 for the stainless steel model, to $71,000 for a version in 18-karat rhodiumized white gold diamonds. Click HERE to see the whole collection.
