At the Cosmetic Executive Women Organization held their annual Beauty Insider Awards ceremony at a luncheon last week in Midtown NYC. Over 1,000 various companies, beauty influencers, industry professionals and CEW members came out to the honor the best in beauty for 2017. While a number of well-established beauty and skincare brands were took home trophies, many young brands were awarded for their innovation and performance.
The awarded products were narrowed down from a pool of over 900 products and tested by the beauty experts on the council. Selections from both affordable, drugstore brands as well as luxury were considered for the CEW Beauty Insider Awards. While high-end brands took the lead in wins, indie brands were also present in this year’s awards including high-end cult favorites Charlotte Tilbury and Milk Makeup. “You know, we a saw a lot of smaller companies win this year, but it was also the smaller companies within the bigger companies, like Glamglow [owned by Estée Lauder],” president of CEW Carlotta Jacobson told WWD.
BECCA Cosmetics won best collaboration for their Champagne collection designed with beauty YouTube guru, Jaclyn Hill, while Fresh took home two trophies for their popular Sugar Cream Lip Treatments and Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-boosting Face Mask. Well-known brands including Olay and Shiseido were also winners at the CEW event, awarded for their high-performing products ranging from moisturizer to sunscreen.
