Typically seen in canvas or leather, Converse worked with JW Anderson – an upstart British designer – to re-work the iconic sneakers using felt.

This isn’t your arts and crafts fare either: this is thick, premium felt that is raw and unlined, then machine-stitched for durability. The company says they wanted to bring more innovation to the collection, and using felt was a natural progression for both Converse and JW Anderson. Felt is not only tougher than it looks, Converse says the material is also naturally heat-retaining, ensuring your feet never get cold. A laser-cut license plate frames the iconic Converse logo, while a bold black stripe accents the heel. Monochrome laces finish off the look for a hit of graphic black.

The Converse x JW Anderson collection is in stores now, though some styles are already selling out. These sneakers were made in extremely limited quantities, so shop quickly before your size is gone.

The high-top Chucks are available in two colorways: olive green, and an orange and green mix. The collection also includes re-worked versions of the classic white high-tops, featuring an allover, contrasting, JW Anderson logo print. Sizing for the collection is available for men and women and prices range from $120-$130.
