The Nike Cortez has been a cult-favorite among shoe lovers, fashion It Girls and sneaker heads for decades and with the recent launch of the new Nike Cortez x A.L.C. collaboration, it proves these sneakers aren’t going anywhere soon.
Earlier this summer, legendary footwear designer and Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman celebrated the brand’s 45th anniversary of the coveted Cortez sneaker – the shoe that’s credited for making Nike the worldwide success it is today.
Now, Nike has teamed up with Los Angeles-based brand A.L.C. for a limited-edition collection that “celebrates the modern woman.” And who better to sport the trendy kicks than Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas? Model Bella Hadid was tapped as the face of Nike Cortez campaign a few months ago – recreating the iconic Farrah Fawcett image – and now it’s Douglas’ turn.
The limited-edition range seeks to elevate the staple shoe with luxurious materials, and features A.L.C.’s signature brass hardware. Offered in black, terracotta and cream, the shoes are detailed with snakeskin on the heel and inspirational quotes on the foot beds. Each pair also comes with extra long laces for a playful and feminine touch when tied up the leg.

Neutral, airy and versatile, the white colorway features a rich nubuck suede upper and a neutral snakeskin backtab that adds polished refinement to any outfit.
