* Get cool, fashion-forward pieces at GAP prices
GAP has just dropped their latest limited-edition collaboration, with GQ’s picks for Best New Menswear Designers. The highly-anticipated line features designs from AMI, a Parisian brand that’s been making waves by mixing sportswear and streetwear; Kinfolk, a brand taking inspiration from the soul of Brooklyn’s creative class; and United Arrows & Sons, a Tokyo-based brand that has quickly become a powerhouse in Japanese menswear.
The collaboration gives you the unique opportunity to own clothing designed by celebrated modern designers, but for reasonable GAP prices that the brands couldn’t normally sell for. Below are 6 of our favorite pieces from the collection.
1. GAP + GQ Kinfolk Cargo Pants
Cargo pants are a big trend this fall, but Kinfolk has added elements of athleisure to make a very unique pair. Made of a smooth moleskin weave, these slim fit pants will look great with almost anything in your closet.
2. GAP + GQ UA Band Collar Shirt
One of United Arrows & Sons’ talents is taking menswear classics and making them modern classics. This band collar button up is a perfect example because it’s rendered in a slim fit, can be worn untucked, and comes in a casual milk white that works year-round, whether worn on its own or layered under a sweater or cardigan.
3. GAP + GQ Ami Cashmere Sweater
This simple cashmere sweater by AMI gives the v-neck new life. It’s an old man staple, but a few masterful tweaks (and a great color) make it youthful and fresh for 2017.
4. GAP + GQ Ami Denim Jacket
AMI’s modern take on the denim jacket gives a touch of French street style to the western classic. With a corduroy spread collar, chest pockets, and premium indigo wash denim, the jacket has the power to subtly elevate any outfit.
5. GAP + GQ Ami Wool Parka
If you’re still looking for a way to work plaid into your wardrobe this fall, this is a great option. AMI makes the lumberjack staple work by minimizing the design, and using a soft twill wool weave for a high-end look.
6. GAP + GQ UA Houndstooth Coat
One of the big standouts from the collection is this United Arrows & Sons Houndstooth coat. Its primary feature is obviously the terra brown houndstooth that adds color and texture to your wardrobe, but it works over everything from a full suit to a T-shirt. It looks like something you’d see on the runway or street during fashion week, but is actually very affordable at $300.
