Post-Divorce Kanye Goes Dark With New Yeezy Gap Collection Engineered By Balenciaga

It is indeed a special day for Yeezy fans.

Kanye “Ye” West’s newest GAP collaboration dropped today, and it’s full of ominous silhouettes that feel both somber and thrilling at the same time. While dark and intriguing, every piece, from hoodies and jackets to jeans and sweats, is totally on-brand for Ye. Like the clothing itself, the name of the collection is a little awkward: Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga.

West’s ex, Kim Kardashian, has also been working with the designer fashion brand in 2022, which recently named her the “new face of Balenciaga.” It’s odd timing, and our colleagues at Stylecaster are openly wondering whether Kim and Kanye have some kind of hush-hush arrangement to have their divorce sponsored by Balenciaga. When you compare the new Yeezy Gap Balenciaga Hoodie to Kardashian’s famous hooded Met Gala look, the similarities are obvious.

The limited release Yeezy Gap Collection Engineered By Balenciaga was co-developed with the fashion house’s creative director Demna Gvasalia, and it features eight unisex pieces, ranging from $120 to $440.

This highly anticipated drop comes on the heels of the reveal of West’s Donda 2 album, which he debuted via concert and will release exclusively via his Stem Player audio device, giving West’s followers a lot to be excited about (or to be annoyed about, depending on your interest in the Stem Player).

While many of the Yeezy GAP Engineered by Balenciaga pieces sold out in seconds, fans can still periodically check the YeezyGap.com website to see if there’s a restock or to join the waitlist.
