If you’re lucky enought to be at home in your pajamas this morning, you may enjoy reading the latest news about BedHead. The West Coast brand has been acquired by sleep/intimates giant Komar. Get the details from Women’s Wear Daily and shop below.
Komar has brought another brand into the fold. The sleep-and-intimate-apparel design, manufacturing and distribution company has acquired BedHead Pajamas, a California-based sleepwear brand.
Renee Claire launched the company, which is known for its stylish pajamas, in the late Nineties. She built a following among Hollywood costume designers and opened a store in West Hollywood. The assortment is sold at specialty boutiques and department stores, including Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
“Komar has the vision to help us to continue to build the BedHead brand while remaining true to the identity that we’ve worked so hard to build,” said Claire. “We are excited about the possibilities and could not imagine a better home for BedHead.” The business will remain in Los Angeles and Claire will continue to lead design. The West Hollywood retail store will remain open.
“Renee has built a highly successful, sought-after sleepwear brand with a unique point of view,” said Charlie Komar, Komar’s president and chief executive officer. “Komar is committed to continuing to foster and grow this terrific brand that she started. We are so pleased to welcome BedHead to our company.”
