Give your summer wardrobe an exotic upgrade with the handcrafted Yeshi Caftan Dress from Lemlem. This stand-out summer staple offers a contemporary option that can be worn on its own or over shorts and trousers, with undeniable class and comfort.
Handwoven by a group of artisans in Addis Ababa, the sleeveless Yeshi Caftan Dress is intricately crafted with lightweight cotton, geometric tibeb patterns and vibrant stripes. It features one-of-a-kind flared gauze panels at the sides for added volume and a relaxed fit that ends mid-thigh. The dress also features a deep keyhole neckline and fringed hem for a fun finish that’s sure to complement any style.
Liya Kebede started Lemlem (which means “to flourish” or “bloom” in Amharic) in 2007 as a way to inspire economic independence in her native country, Ethiopia. Kebede discovered that the traditional weavers were losing their jobs due to a decline in local demand. Recognizing the beauty, quality and historic significance of the artists’ work, the supermodel, actress and former World Health Organization’s Goodwill Ambassador wanted to empower and preserve the ancient art form of hand-weaving in her handcrafted fashion pieces, bringing a piece of Ethiopia to the world.
