TUMI Launches New Campaign With Russell Westbrook

* Luggage brand’s latest ad features Oklahoma City Thunder basketball star

Luggage maker TUMI has tapped Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook as the latest face for its 19 Degree collection campaign. The basketball star appears in a new print and video campaign that promotes the collection and its tagline: “Perfecting the Journey.”

The 19 Degree collection is TUMI’s first-ever aluminum travel collection. The 10-piece capsule combines the luxurious, fluid look of hardcase luggage, with innovative exterior and interior features (think: dual-spinning recessed wheels, tie-down straps and a hanger bracket).

The brand’s global campaign for the collection, meantime, highlights the individual journeys of athletes, influencers, industry leaders and craftsman — all of whom travel with TUMI to a unique destination of their choosing.

The 19 Degree campaign starring Westbrook, sees the star athlete take cameras back to his current home city of Oklahoma. “Home is where my journey takes me,” Westbrook says while images of Oklahoma City are shown on the screen. “I’ve been feeling love since I got here. The people of Oklahoma City have done nothing but welcome me with open arms. Home pushes me to drive harder.”
