How’s it going, sweaty?

No shade, my friend. I’m one of you. To be quite frank, I’m one of the sweatiest people I know and it’s nothing but frustrating. And this isn’t me saying, “I sweat when I workout” either. Yeah, I sweat when I work out, but I also sweat when I am sitting down doing nothing.

No matter how much antiperspirant deodorant I’m wearing, I can walk outside on the most temperate day the world has to offer and my armpits will be hosing like an open fire hydrant. I can be on a date without a single nerve and feel my pit sweat dripping down my sides. Hell, I can be sitting at my work from home desk like I am right now writing this article, touch both armpits and feel nothing but damp cotton. It’s a genuine mess and it’s beyond uncomfortable.

And, let me tell you — when I say I’ve tried it all, I’ve quite honestly tried it all. I’ve cleared shelves at Target looking for the best brand for my pits and tend to switch around a lot in hopes that will help. And, in my sweat-conquering experience, I’ve learned that some of the best deodorants for men who sweat a lot do the trick while others lie straight to our faces.

While it’s probably safe to say that the best deodorants for men who sweat a lot aren’t typically the over-the-counter type, there are some great options to choose from. Because I totally get it if you’re still holding out on getting a deodorant prescription. Like I said, I’m sweaty as hell and I’ve yet to try anything you can’t purchase on Amazon myself. Feels like a no-brainer, but I’m going to wait as long as I can to get in on that prescribed deodorant.

With that said, I went ahead and found the best deodorants for men who sweat a lot down below. These deodorants can effectively tackle your sweat-related issues at least a little better than what you’re using now, though, I can’t promise they will stop your pits from dripping completely. But, hey, they might stop the drop at least a little if not altogether.

It’s time to tackle that sweat. Check out the best deodorants for men who sweat a lot you can buy directly over the counter below now.

1. Degree Men Antiperspirant Deodorant

Degree means business when it comes to sweaty guys. In my experience, Degree is one of the only regular antiperspirant deodorants for men who sweat a lot that actually works to reduce stench and wetness. It gives me the safety I’d expect in a prescription deodorant all packed into an affordable over-the-counter type.

It uses 48-hour non-stop protection to keep those wet pits dryer than the Sahara and smelling fresher than fresh linens. The deodorant is built with smart capsules that work to keep your pits fresh as you move, keeping your body from sweating even when it wants to. From vigorous activities to walks around town, you won’t fear moving around anymore with Degree’s great-smelling Everest scent and powerful sweat control.

2. Gillette Clinical Antiperspirant Deodorant

When it comes to deodorants that shoot the deodorizing concoction out of little holes when making the stick go higher, I’m always quite skeptical. I typically prefer solid stick because the wetness of the holey deodorant makes my pits feel damp. But, that’s not the case with Gillette’s Clinical Antiperspirant Deodorant. This stick uses 10,000 odor-fighting molecules and a prescription-strength creation to fight against underarm wetness and smell. Although it comes out of the tiny holes at the top, it doesn’t have a goopy viscosity to it that leaves your underarms feeling wet post-application. Each pit will feel dry upon application and all day after.

3. Harry’s Deodorant

I know what you’re thinking. Two shave-related brands? In an article about the best deodorant for men who sweat a lot? And the answer is, surprisingly, yeah.

Upon trying Harry’s deodorant, it was safe to say that I was shocked at just how effective this antiperspirant deodorant is at… well… anti-ing perspirant. It provides 24-hour control to fight odor and sweat for a non-sticky, fresh-all-day feeling I personally really love. It’s suitable for sensitive skin and contains jojoba oil to soothe any underarm-related issues that might have occurred shaving or otherwise. User of Harry’s razors? As you should be, they’re my absolute favorite. If you love the brand as much as I do and sweat like a hog, honestly give this stuff a shot. Maybe you’ll be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

4. Certain Dri Prescription Strength Clinical Antiperspirant Deodorant

Now, THIS is some powerful deodorant. I don’t even know how to say that and mean it with the amount of emphasis it truly deserves. If you are an excessive sweater, this is the deodorant you should use to fight your fountain-filled pits. It’s the strongest deodorant you can purchase without a prescription and uses 12% Aluminum Chloride, which is the number one doctor-recommended active ingredient for tackling hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating).

You have to be super careful when using Certain Dri, though. I used this deodorant for a little bit back in college and have to say, I have never come in contact with a deodorant for men that sweat a lot that works better. But, and this is a BIG but, if you don’t follow directions, you can give yourself some serious underarm burns. College-aged me loved this deodorant so much that I began using it more frequently than I was supposed to and suffered from the consequences. I got burns under each armpit and they weren’t only extremely painful but took forever to go away.

That said, use this deodorant with caution, follow directions and only if you are seriously suffering from some extra-sweaty pits. Trust me on this one.

5. Carpe Underarm Antiperspirant and Deodorant

For the past couple of months, I have been using Carpe for diminishing underarm sweat in addition to any other deodorant I’ve been testing out and I must say I’m pretty impressed. I began using it after I found my sweat was still pooling under my armpits after stopping my use of Certain Dri. I didn’t want to full-throttle get back into Certain Dri because of the issue that happened last time, so I was looking for a safer way to combat sweat when I found Carpe.

This dermatologist-recommended clinical strength deodorant manages excessive sweat really well. Unlike Certain Dri, it minimizes irritation and uses some natural ingredients to stop sweating from happening. It has a smooth consistency and has restored my confidence tremendously in the past couple of months and has given me little fear in giving myself burns like I did last time.

What I will say is this: sadly, it doesn’t work nearly as well as Certain Dri. Yes, it works and allows for some fumbles which is great if you don’t want rashes (because who does?), but it doesn’t keep your underarms as dry for as long as Certain Dri does. It’s a win yet a loss, but I definitely suggest this for folks looking for Certain Dri alternatives.
