While fragrance is one of those harder topics to write about, since this innovative product is technically “Not a Perfume,” we might be able to do it some justice.

Juliette Has a Gun, Not A Perfume is a “provocative declaration” which does not follow the rules of modern perfumery. Not a Perfume is based on contradictions, since its composition is created of molecules, is composed of one single fragrance note and is the only fragrance without allergens.

The single note, called cetalox, is most often used in perfumery as a base note. Here it plays the lead role for a fragrance that will easily satisfy the most difficult tastes, particularly those preferring discretion over complexity. The scent is woody and earthy and is described as a “warm woods” scent type.

Creator Romano Ricci hails from a long line of perfumers and was initiated into fashion by his great grandmother, the famed, Nina Ricci. He launched his company in 2006 with the intention to create a brand dedicated to women, willing to open a new type of elegance in the niche perfumery world.

Named after the Shakespearian heroine, with “The Gun” as a metaphor for the perfume, the name essentially symbolizes the liberation of women towards men, yet is also influenced by romanticism.

Pick up this spray if you’re looking for something delicate yet confident; unique yet inviting. With cetalox as its base, this fragrance will work with your own body chemistry to create a long-lasting, memorable scent.
