If there’s something all dermatologists agree on, it’s that we should all be wearing sunblock or sunscreen daily. But for some men, especially those who don’t necessarily love the routine or the heavy, greasy feeling that sunblock sometimes leaves behind, it can be hard to keep up that pledge. Enter the game-changer: Disco Moisturizing Mineral Sun Block, formulated specifically for men.
We all know that sun exposure can wreak havoc on your skin, causing sunburn, wrinkles, premature aging and even more serious issues like skin cancer. Thanks to Disco, men may now have a remedy, providing both protection and nourishment for your body’s largest organ: the skin.
The new formula aligns nicely with Disco’s current product lineup of non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free skincare products formulated specifically for men. The Moisturizing Mineral SPF 30 Sun Block combines sunscreen and advanced skincare in one, containing clean ingredients like zinc-oxide to protect your skin from UV rays and tripeptide to assist in rebuilding and strengthening dermal structure and collagen. It also helps even skin tone a combat discoloration with wakame extract, while niacinamide reduces pores.
As far as application and feel are concerned, Disco’s Moisturizing Mineral Sun Block blends into your skin with ease, without leaving behind white residue or clogging pores, making it perfect for all skin types.
Spy’s Site Director Tim Werth received a sample of this new mineral sunscreen for testing, and he found that it was lighter than most mineral sunscreens, which tend to go on thick. He noted that it was also really effective at preventing redness and sunburn. The brand’s signature eucalyptus scent is well executed in this product, leaving you with a fresh clean feeling, with Tim sharing that it smelled great and left him feeling completely moisturized.

It seems with the Moisturizing Mineral Sun Block, Disco’s pretty much created the perfect sunscreen for men — and the research and time put into it say it all. The skincare brand partnered with Johns Hopkins dermatologist Dr. Eva Simmons-O’Brien to create a product that would normalize daily, year-round sunscreen use for men. They explain that men most often develop sun damage and skin cancer on their faces, specifically foreheads, cheeks, temples, scalp and ears.
In a press release for the sunblock, Dr. Simmons-O’Brien shared, “While guys might be great at applying sunscreen before they go to the beach or head outside for a long run, everyone needs to wear sunscreen every day in order to protect their skin from premature aging and skin cancer.”
She says, “Daylight is UV light regardless of the season, cloud cover, or temperature.” Dr. Simmons-O’Brien recommends using at least a quarter of a teaspoon of sunscreen for the face, ears, and scalp and reapplying every two hours to stay safe.
