Review: Ettitude Sheets Are Still Comfortable After 2 Years and 50+ Washes

I’m just going to come out and say it: I think bed sheets make or break your entire bed. A duvet cover can be from a luxury brand or a budget brand, it doesn’t really matter. Pillows are important, don’t get me wrong, especially if they’re custom-made, but even they aren’t as crucial as sheets. If you’re sleeping in nice, cooling, high-quality sheets your entire body is cradled in comfort, your skin is not getting irritated by cheap fabric and your temperature stays regulated throughout the night. If you’re sleeping on itchy, scratchy, hot sheets that aren’t loving you back? Good luck snoozing as deeply.

That’s why I splurged for Ettitude sheets in the first place. I had heard about them from a few close friends and podcast ads, and decided to give them a try when I was already redoing my entire bedroom setup with a new frame, fresh pillows, the works. That was two years ago, and I’ve slept a lot better since buying them. Not only are they crazy soft, they’re also very cooling, just the right weight, easy to make the bed with and stain-resistant. They’re pricey, but I haven’t thought about the price tag once since they got delivered, and I want you to experience the same.

Ettitude Sheets Review: The Criteria

Obviously, when it comes to reviewing sheets one of the biggest areas of judgement is comfort. If you’re not comfortable in your bed, there’s no hope. Ettitude sheets are super comfortable right out of the box, and are still comfortable many washes later. Here’s the rest of the criteria I’ll be using to judge them:

Related Stories

  • Comfort
  • Temperature Regulation
  • Washing and Drying
  • Durability

A lot of brands make sheets that are super soft and comfortable right out of the box. We care about that here at SPY, but we also care about what the sheets are like after the 10th, 20th and 50th wash. I’ve had my sheets for close to two years and wash them every other week, so I’m getting close to that 50-wash mark, if I haven’t hit it already.

What Makes Ettitude Sheets Different?

The biggest differentiator of Ettitude sheets is the materials they’re made of. Ettitude uses bamboo, rather than cotton, which makes them cooling and super soft. They use 100% organic bamboo in all of their products which is breathable, hypoallergenic and great for your skin and hair.

There’s also huge environmental pluses to using bamboo over cotton. Ettitude uses 500x less water and 52% less CO2. Bamboo requires less land to grow and theirs is grown organically with no chemicals.

Ettitude also makes four varieties of sheets:

  • Signature Sateen
  • Sateen+
  • Twill
  • Waffle

I’ve been using their Signature Sateen variety and have loved the results. The Sateen+ variety is infused with charcoal for moisture-wicking and odor reduction, and is recommended if you sweat a lot in your sleep. Their Twill sheets are made to be heavier and have a crisp, hotel-like feel, while their Waffle weave is crafted to be luxurious and gently exfoliating.

Ettitude Sheets and Comfort Are Basically Synonymous

In case it hasn’t already been established, Ettitude sheets are incredibly comfortable. Immediately upon opening them, I knew I had made the right decision. The 100% bamboo material does feel softer, silkier and more comfortable than cotton, and to this day I feel excited to get into my bed at the end of the day to sleep. I can also sense a difference when I’m on the road and not in my bed, and my sleep changes as a result.

On their website, Ettitude claims that their bamboo sheets are comparable to 1,000 thread count cotton sheets and I can concor they’re equivocal. There are plenty of soft cotton sheets out there, but none that regulate your temperature like these do.

Hot Sleeper? Ettitude Will Help

A key part of sleeping comfortably is staying cool, and these definitely do the trick. I can’t promise they’ll keep the sweatiest sleepers from waking up too hot, but they’re better than cotton or flannel sheets. They feel lighter and easier to adjust than some cotton sheets I’ve slept on, and yet substantial and give you enough coverage at the same time.

You know when a cheap sheet feels like someone’s draped a paper napkin over your body? These don’t feel like that, and they’re not sweltering hot when you’re underneath either.

I live in a super cold place, and my bedroom is not as insulated from the elements as other rooms in my apartment. Ettitude sheets have definitely kept me warm in the winter as well as cool in hotter temperatures, so the temperature regulation works both ways.

Are They the Same Sheets After 50 Washes?

My short answer is no, but the question is irrelevant in my opinion.

My Ettitude sheets were super soft in a silky way when I first unpackaged them and made my bed. They were like that after the first few washes, but a few years later they’ve become more like cotton than silk, and feel thicker as opposed to slippery like silk is known to be. I’ve welcomed this change, and I think it’s unrealistic to expect any set of sheets, or fabric in general, to feel exactly the same a few years out.

Another great part of Ettitude sheets? They look really nice on your bed. Your sheets aren’t the first thing people see when they walk into your bedroom, as they’re usually hidden underneath a duvet cover, blanket or quilt, but if you’re trying to impress a new overnight guest, or need a great set of sheets for your guest room, they don’t look or feel cheap.

Are they still comfortable, cooling and soft to the touch? Yes. Are they still worth buying? Yes. Would I recommend them to my friends? Yes.

Pros:

  • Deep pockets made for larger mattresses
  • Top/Bottom tags that make it easy to make your bed
  • Soft, silky texture
  • Cooling and temperature regulating
  • Environmentally-friendly and come in reusable packaging

Cons:

  • Very expensive
  • Sheet set doesn’t come with pillowcases, you have to buy them separately

Should You Buy Them?

There are plenty of comfortable sheet sets out there that you can get a great night’s sleep on. Ettitude makes a high-ticket product that delivers when it comes to keeping you cool and cozy throughout the night, and looking great on your bed. They make it as easy as possible to make your bed, are easy to wash and fold and will last for years. If you’re looking to invest in more expensive, nicer sheets, these are a great option.
