iFit is one of the most popular apps in the virtual, connected fitness space and is hosted on some of our favorite machines from fitness brands like NordicTrack and ProForm. Now, they’re breaking some boundaries and pushing physical limits of their own by hosting a free, live-streamed workout from Mt. Everest on Monday, March 22nd at 8pm EST.
The workout, called “Sunrise Trek on Everest” will be available to anyone via the iFit app, members who already have the app or new users via their 30-day free trial. The 8pm time here in the States will line up perfectly with the time the sun rises on Everest, so you’ll be able to take in breathtaking views as you virtually hike up Kala Patthar. The iconic trail on the mountain takes place at 18,300 feet and has views of Everest’s summit the whole way up.

The virtual hike will be led by Everest-experienced guides, mountaineers and iFit Guides Kenton Cool, Lydia Bradey and Ang Tshering Lama — all of whom have summited Everest, led groups on expeditions on the mountain and/or saved lives on the mountain.
If you’ve got a machine with the iFit app synced up, all you’ll need to do is join the workout via the “On Air” icon 8pm to stream it. The LiveAdjust technology will automatically adjust the incline and decline in accordance with the hike so you’ll feel like you’re really there!
Capacity for the workout will be limited, so iFit members be sure to add the workout to your schedule ASAP to count yourself in! Members can begin doing this starting on March 16th.
Following the live workout, the workout will also be added to iFit’s extensive workout library for members to stream afterwards. You can find some of our favorite NordicTrack and ProForm equipment compatible with this workout in our best treadmills piece.
