* BedJet is a climate control system for your bed
* No more fighting over chilly beds or sweaty night
* Easy-to-use – sets up in minutes
If you sleep with a significant other, chances are you two have endured debates about what temperature the thermostat should be set at. You’re too hot. She’s too cold. Everyone sleeps differently — that’s all there is to it. It’s a common problem that can be difficult to solve. Piling on comforters doesn’t always work and they can slip off. Kicking the sheets off and having a fan blow directly at you isn’t great either. So, what are you going to do?
Well, an ex-NASA spacesuit engineer has come up with a solution we really like. It’s called Bedjet, and it’s billed as the world’s first rapid cooling and heating system just for your bed. It’s designed to help everyone sleep perfectly. And, we put it to the test.
Bedjet v2 Climate Control System
The whole premise of Bedjet is to give you and your sleep mate two distinct sleeping environments with two distinct temperatures. That way, if they’re cold, they can add heat, and if you’re hot, you can add cool air.
How It Works
So, how does that happen? Air is pumped in at the foot of the bed by a quiet, digital DC motor. When I first heard this, I was worried air would be blowing right on my feet all night. That didn’t sound good. But, I was relieved to learn the air actually pumps into a pocket sheet, so it never touches you directly. Instead, the air puffs the sheet up, giving it the look and feel of a lightweight down comforter. Only it’s as warm or cool as you like. I found it to be extremely comfortable, warm and cozy, without the suffocating weight of too many comforters. And unlike electric blankets, I never felt too hot or got sweaty under Bedjet.
At the same time, my wife was looking for a cooler sleep temperature. And, Bedjet delivered. She had recently tried cooling technology mattresses and pillows. While those were good, Bedjet outperformed them by a mile. In addition to the cooling air, it helps to rapidly eliminate moisture and sweat from the bed. That’s great if you suffer from night sweats or hot flashes.
What We Liked
It took less than a minute for Bedjet to achieve my perfect temperature setting. Temperature is set using a wireless remote control. That way, you don’t have to get out of bed to customize your climate. There’s even a Bluetooth app that lets you control it from your smartphone. You can select cooling or heating. You can adjust the level of each. There’s even a timer system. For instance, if you want to start warm but then cool off as the night goes on, you can program Bedjet to do just that.
Here are a few more things to like about it: BedJet works on any size bed. It doesn’t change the feel of your mattress, and you can use your own sheets. Assembly was easy. I was finished putting it together in about 7 minutes. You just connect a few pieces and plug it in. And even though it’s drawing electricity, it’s still cheaper than cooling the whole house with the air conditioner. So, you could actually end up saving money on your electric bill. The main unit tucks discreetly under your bed frame for easy storage.
If you don’t want to take just my word for it, consider this: In a doctor-led medical study of menopausal women, BedJet says 94% of the participants fell asleep faster, stayed asleep longer and awoke less frequently at night. And, 85% got night sweat and hot flash relief.
So, does BedJet live up to its promise to help you start sleeping better today? It certainly did in my case. To the point that I won’t need to call them on their 60-day No Sweat Guarantee. And, I suspect that’s why it’s one of the highest customer-rated products in the entire mattress category on Amazon. (It has a 4.5 star review from more than 650 reviewers as of this writing).
BedJet is available in a number of models online. Their new V2 model includes an essential oil Aromatherapy diffuser kit that delivers the soothing effects of scented aromatherapy while helping to freshen your sheets when running the BedJet.
Great as a gift as well, each box includes the BedJet base unit with the super quiet digital motor, a wireless remote control and a link to download the free Bluetooth app to control the device from your phone or tablet.
