If there’s one thing we know about the e-comm world it’s that brands are always looking to push the envelope, stretch the boundaries of what’s socially-acceptable behavior and catch our attention. Well, Kraft is the latest brand to accomplish just that, by creating mac and cheese ice cream. Yup, you read that correctly. Grab your ice cream scoops, put away the ice cream maker and get ready to enjoy this truly unique flavor.
We’ve seen wild ice cream flavors before, who could forget the fried chicken ice cream we discovered earlier this year? Well, in celebration of National Mac and Cheese Day, Kraft has teamed up with Brooklyn-based ice cream brand Van Leeuwen on a flavor that’s creamy, cheesy and comforting just like both foods, respectively. The limited-edition flavor will be available on the Van Leeuwen website for $12 a pint starting on July 14th at 11:00am EST.
“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream. That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with,” said Emily Violett, senior associate brand manager for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
Van Leeuwen is known for their clean ice cream flavors made with only a few ingredients, and this ice cream is no different.
It officially launches today, July 14th, and will be available in Van Leeuwen’s stores in New York, Los Angeles, Houston and on their website for $12 a pint.
