It’s National Ice Cream Day and dozens of restaurants and retailers are celebrating with free scoops and deals on popular flavors and new items. A few frozen yogurt chains are jumping on the bandwagon too (and we’re not complaining). Here are the best deals we’ve spied.
1. McDonald’s
Get a free vanilla soft serve cone if you download McDonald’s mobile app. Open the app and redeem the “Free Vanilla Cone” offer when ordering.
2. Carvel
Buy any size soft serve ice cream cone or cup and get one free. You can choose from three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, or Oreo.
3. 16 Handles
Download the frozen yogurt chain’s app to get a coupon for a free 4 oz. cup. Fill it up with your choice of fro-yo from the chain’s self-serve machines.
4. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
Kids and teens under 18 will get a free kids scoop in a classic orange cake cone with sprinkles, when an accompanying adult buys a scoop or cone at regular price.
5. Dippin’ Dots
Get a free mini cup of the chain’s famous flash-frozen ice cream “dots.” Available at most Dippin’ Dots stand-alone locations and participating mall stands.
6. Baskin-Robbins
Download the Baskin-Robbins Mobile App to reveal the freebies and deals for National Ice Cream Day. As of now, the 31 Flavors purveyor has yet to say what these deals could be.
7. Wendy’s
Get a chocolate or vanilla Frosty for just 50 cents. Bonus: the deal is good till August 25.
