With 25 (official) films in the James Bond film franchise, there are plenty of creative costume ideas to choose from in the long-running spy saga.

Whether you’re a fan of the classic Sean Connery films like Goldfinger and Dr. No or you prefer Daniel Craig’s world-weary take on Bond, there are plenty of ideas you can borrow for this year’s Halloween costume.

Of course, since James Bond is famously one of the most stylish characters in film history (as are many of his foils and love interests), many of our picks are simply stylish clothing items you can wear any time of year.

Bond characters are a tried and true Halloween staple. Here’s how to make it your own and stand out this year. 

1. Sean Connery as James Bond in “Dr. No”

For a classic James Bond costume, you can’t do better than a tuxedo. If you have a tuxedo already, then you have almost everything you need for the perfect James Bond costume. If not, you can assemble a pretty good imitation of this look without spending more than $50 to $100.

2. Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No from “Dr. No”

Dr. No remains one of James Bond’s most famous nemeses, and his costume is fairly easy to nail. He wears a distinctive blazer with a Nehru collar in a gray/white color. He also wears shiny black leather gloves. Just slick back your hair, and you’ve got the look.

3. Jaws from “The Spy Who Loved Me” and “Moonraker”

If you’re looking for an easy costume that die-hard James Bond fans will recognize, look no further than Richard Kiel’s Jaws from the films The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. Unlike some villains, Jaws doesn’t really have one, single identifiable outfit. But that’s because most people are probably focused on his steel teeth. Keep it simple with a pair of black suspenders, a white dress shirt and a set of prop metal teeth. Richard Kiel was a big guy, so this is a good costume for taller men.

These cheap grills are hardly the best quality you can find — but they’re not bad for a single night of henchman work. They include an upper and lower, so make sure you flash a big smile for the most intimidating effect.

4. James Bond and Ursula Andress in “Dr. No”

James Bond’s most famous baby blue outfit is his one-piece from Goldfinger, but it’s not the first time he sported the shade. In Dr. No, he wears a knit polo with a coordinating pair of light blue pants. Dressing up as Connery and Andress from Dr. No would make for a great couple’s costume (even better if you can get someone to dress up as Dr. No)

5. Daniel Craig as James Bond in “No Time To Die”

If you didn’t already know, we’re kind of obsessed with this ribbed sweater look Bond is rocking in the No Time To Die. It’s way too dapper to leave out and not consider for yourself this Halloween. It’s expensive, but there’s no reason you can’t get a lot of wear out of it.

6. Rami Malek in “No Time To Die”

Bond’s main antagonist in No Time To Die is a creepy one. Safin is played by Rami Malek, who has a classically Bond-ian plot for world domination. The white mask is a distinctive look and not too hard to replicate.

Like a lot of Bond-themed costumes, this is one you can get away with wearing not on Halloween. Just don’t make any murderous plans involving nano blood.

7. Harold Sakata as Oddjob from “Goldfinger”

Oddjob is one of the most iconic henchmen in film history, period. He’s a ruthless assassin with a unique way of dispatching his enemies: His bowler hat has a built-in blade.

The bowler is obviously the most important part of an Oddjob costume. This one looks quite a bit like the one in the movie, and it’s an inexpensive option from Amazon, making it great for a last-minute James Bond costume.

In Goldfinger, Oddjob cuts the head off a statue using his hat in a show of force to James Bond. A stone statue head is kind of hard to find, but this cheap styrofoam craft head is a solid stand-in. 

8. Sean Connery in “Thunderball”

If you don’t mind showing off a little leg, wear the outfit from the film’s cover art. All you need are some swim fins, a red fitness pullover and white shorts.

9. Halle Berry and Pierce Brosnan in “Die Another Day”

In 2002’s Die Another Day, Halle Berry stars alongside Pierce Brosnan as NSA agent Jinx. Her costume is a tribute to the classic Ursula Andress appearance in Dr. No, and Berry’s take has become pretty iconic in its own right.
